There were some key games in Division Two tonight with Augher taking on bottom team Killyman and earning a very convincing eight point win on a score line of 1-14 to 1-6. Jamie Donnelly was in fine form scoring seven points for his side but it was a fifth minute goal from Kevin Hackett, who finished with 1-2, that gave his team the self belief necessary in games like these. Killyman’s chances were not helped when they were reduced to fourteen men midway through the first half.

The Strabane v Newtownstewart game was off but fellow North Tyrone sides Clann na nGael and Urney served up an old fashioned ding dong battle that saw a Brian Dooher inspired Clan na Gael side earn a five point win 1-9 to 0-7. The Clans struck the post twice in the first half and in spite of scores from Gareth Mc Dermott and Stevie O’Neill they trailed 0-4 to 0-3 at the break to a Johnny Lafferty inspired Urney. However a goal within thirty seconds of the restart by Dooher edged his side ahead and they pushed on to win with Stevie O’Neill, Mc Dermott, Paul Conwell and Aidy Ball among their scorers.

In the other two Division Two matches played this evening Rock continued their push towards the top of the table with a 2-7 to 0-9 win over Stewartstown while Gortin enjoyed a comfortable six point win at home to Aghyaran. Rock and Clann na nGael have now joined Edendork at the top of the table with Kildress just a point behind the leading trio.
