Greencastle maintained their fine league form with a hard fought victory away to Dungannon Clarkes on Friday evening. The game finished 1-15 to 2-10 with the winning scores coming late in the match from Barry Mc Garvey and John Mc Cullagh.

The visitors made the better start and led 1-3 to no score early on with their goal coming from Kevin Ferrity and Shane Coyle [2] and John Mc Cullagh grabbing points. However a mistake by Castle keeper Collie Tuohey brought Dungannon back into the game and points from Patrick Quinn and Kiefer Morgan left three between them at the break with Greencastle 1-6 to 1-3 in front.

The second half saw a much more cohesive Dungannon display with Morgan and Quinn causing major problems for the Greencastle defence. Dungannon drew level eighteen minutes into the second half following a goal from Patrick Quinn and moved 2-9 to 1-11 in front courtesy of a fine finish from Kiefer Morgan. However Greencastle rallied and Sean Warnock drew the sides level when his goal bound shot was tipped over the bar. Points from Mark Carson and Barry Mc Garvey put the visitors ahead again before Kiefer Morgan levelled it with two minutes remaining.

Unfortunately for the Clarkes that was as good as it got. Mc Garvey again and former county minor John Mc Cullagh landed late points to secure a 1-15 to 2-10 win for Greencastle.

Killeeshil and Brackaville fought out a 2-8 to 1-11 draw this evening producing a result that does little for either side’s hopes of avoiding relegation. Packie Mc Mullan [1-2] and Chris Carberry  [1-1] put the St Mary’s in a strong position at the break but Brackaville rallied well to earn a share of the spoils at the end. Paddy Gervin, Rian Mc Hugh and Ciaran Currie were the scorers in chief for the Owen Roes while it was the boot of Mc Currie that delivered the equaliser.

Loughmacrory enjoyed a fine win over Stewartstown Harps this evening on a score line of 1-17 to 1-6. The Harps looked short of confidence and struggled to cope with the loch forward line all evening. Ronan Ward top scored with seven points for the winners while Niall Grimes bagged his team’s goal. The loch led 0-7 to 1-1 at the break with Stewartstown adding only five second half points to their total. Gareth Devlin [1-1], Dan Lowe [2], Cathal Devlin, Paul Dillon and Macauley Quinn [0-1 each] scored for the Harps. Sean Paul Slane, Ciaran Ward and John Gallagher also hit the target for the winners.

Aghyaran and Gortin were involved in the Championship on Wednesday night but both were back in league action this evening. The St Patrick’s enjoyed a superb 0-17 to 1-12 win over Derrylaughan while Aghyaran drew at home to Urney 0-12 apiece. The visitors scores came for Jamie Mc Aleer [3], Ryan Henry [3], Fergal Mc Nulty [2] and a point apiece from Rory Lynch, Stephen and Ronan Lafferty.

Gortin were 0-17 to 1-12 winners at home to Derrylaughan. Kevin Mossey, Diarmaid McNulty and Ruairi Keenan supplied points for the winners with Shea Coney, Ciaran Gervin and Darragh Carney on target for the Kevin Barrys with Ciaran Quinn their goal scorer.

Galbally made it three wins out of three when beating Newtownstewart 1-10 to 2-4 away from home. Sean Murphy got the Pearses goal with Paul Rafferty and Enda McGarrity featuring among their points, Niall Mayse and Aidan McSorley finding the net for the hosts.
