Moy travelled to Plunkett Park and the ended Pomeroy’s title hopes thanks to a 3-8 to 0-11 win. Harry Loughran found the net twice for the visitors either side of a major from Sean Cavanagh with Ryan O’Neill and Kris Kavanagh featuring among the points. Ollie McCreesh, Justin McCaffrey and Frank Burns were among the points for Pomeroy but it wasn’t enough on the day.
Augher kept their push for the promotion play offs when they had a 2-12 to 1-9 win over Galbally at Father Hackett Park. Star of the show for the St.Macartans was county minor Sean Hackett who hit 1-9 with Patrick Treanor getting their other goal. The Pearses had started brightly with Damian McCrory finding the net but they failed to build on that despite Paul Rafferty weighing in with half a dozen points.
Clann na Gael gave their survival hopes a huge shot in the arm when they defeated Derrytresk 2-15 to 1-5 on home soil. Joe Ball grabbed both goals for the winners with county captain Stephen O’Neill weighing in with five points with Danny Ball notching a couple as well. Ronan O’Neill got the Derrytresk goal with Joe McKee landing a couple of points.
