Sunday 05.05.2013
Galbally made it two wins out of two when they had the minimum to spare over neighbours Rock at Pearse Park. Teenager Enda McGarrity got the all important goal for the hosts with Mickey Murphy top scoring for them. Martin McCreesh, Tommy Bloomer and Conor McCreesh had Rock points with the latter getting their goal as it finished 1-9 to 1-8. Edendork picked up their first win of the season when they emerged 0-17 to 0-9 winners over Eskra. Darren McCurry hit eight points for the St.Malachys with Brian O’Rourke and Niall Morgan also on target, Peter Hughes among the points for the Emmetts. Strabane remain unbeaten in Division 2 following a five point victory over Pomeroy. Strabane had a strong breeze in their favour in the first half and they enjoyed an eight point lead at the interval. John McLaughlin was in excellent form for the Sigersons firing over five points. Marc Devine hit Strabane’s only goal on nineteen minutes. The visitors then hit a purple patch during which they scored 1-3 without reply. It took Strabane almost twenty minutes before they got their next score and it came via Ruairi McElroy but again Pomeroy responded with another point from Play but Strabane then stepped it up a gear in the closing five minutes with John McLaughlin, Michael Etherson and Danny McBride all sending points from play to pull their side clear. Stewartstown suffered a home defeat at the hands of Moortown in spite of reaching the break 5-3 ahead with points fro James Campbell and Paul Dillon. However that was as good as it got for the home team as they scored only one point in a very disappointing second half for them. Moortown with Tony Quinn, Conor Herron and Karl Hagan on target bossed the second half to win comfortably by five points. Aghyaran came from six points down to earn a draw against Derrytresk. Goals either side of half time by Liam Slater and Jay Dillon looked to have sealed the north Tyrone side’s fate but a goal from Aidan Connolly and points from Sean Byrne and Michael Anderson ensured the spoils were shared. Gortin lost out at home to Kildress by four points as Des Tracey, Matthew Heagney and Frank Mc Gurk inspired the visitors to victory. The Wolfe Tones started brightly and led six points to one before Gortin got going. Diarmuid Mc Nulty hit three and Kevin Mc Cullagh and Shane Clarke were also on target to close the gap but Kildress dug deep and points from Tracey, Mc Gurk and Niall Quinn ensured the points went back to Gortacladdy. Brackaville got their first win of the season away to Clan na Gael in a game where they were the better side throughout. They led by four at the break 0-8 to 0-4 with Che O’Donnell leading the way for the Owen Roes. Damien Devine, Stephen Mc Sorley, Damien Ball and Sean O’Kane were on target for the home side but Brackaville pulled away to win comfortably in the end with O’Donnell scoring 0-8 and Ciaran Girvan and Sean Mc Nally hitting four points between them. Urney made it two wins out of two when they travelled to O’Neill Park and came away with a convincing 3-11 to 1-8 victory. County attacker Johnny Lafferty hit 1-4 for the St.Columbas with Jamie McAleer and Plunkett Langan their other goal scorers. Keifer Morgan and Conor McGinn notched three points each for the Clarkes with Sean Anthony Burns getting their goal.
