Moortown took another step closer to a quick return to senior football when they had a facile win at home to an Urney side who were obviously concentrating on next weekend’s Intermediate championship final. Conor Heron, Daniel Quinn and Tony Quinn were among the goals for the St.Malachys at Tobin Park as it finished 5-24 to 0-2.

Galbally moved clear in second spot after a comfortable 4-11 to 1-7 victory over Aghyaran at Pearse Park. Mickey Murphy [2], Sean Murphy and Paul Rafferty got the Pearses’ goals with Sean Byrne finding the net for the St.Davogs.

Strabane slipped up when they lost 1-15 to 0-12 away to a Gortin side who are now safe as a result. Chris McClean got the only goal of the game with Diarmuid McNulty, Brian McGarvey, John McLaughlin and Warner Mullan among the points for their respective sides.

As expected Edendork eased to victory at home to Clann na Gael with Brian McGuckin getting both goals and Darren McCurry landing a number of points as it finished 2-18 to 0-10, Danny Ball and Paul Gormley on target for the visitors.

Rock got a much needed win away to fellow strugglers with Conor McCreesh getting the only goal of the game in a low scoring encounter. Joe McKee hit half of the home side’s points as it finished 1-5 to 0-6. Championship finalists Eskra had to settle for a share of the spoils at home to Brackaville with Peter Hughes and Cathal McCaffrey among their points while Dungannon and Stewartstown finished in a stalemate as well.

Kildress picked up a much needed win when they produced a strong second half display to beat neighbours Pomeroy at Gortacladdy. Damian Kelly and Martin Grimes were the goal scorers for the Wolfe Tones with Chris Colhoun finding the net for the Plunketts with Hugh McNamee among the points for them as well.
