Sunday 12th April

It’s been a very poor start to the Intermediate football league for the three teams relegated from Senior football at the end of 2014. All three sides lost their opening All County League game this weekend.

Derrylaughan got their season off to the perfect start with a convincing ten point victory over neighbours Derrytresk. Shea Coney hit 1-2 for the Kevin Barrys with Fergal McAliskey also ending the game with 0-5. Ciaran Gervin slotted 0-3. Derrytresk had a few regulars missing this afternoon and they had to rely of 0-2 apiece from Cathal O’Neill and Caolan Corr to get their scores. Final Score – Derrylaughan 1-14 Derrytresk 0-7

Loughmacrory travelled to Urney this afternoon and came away with both points following a five point victory. The home side had Johnny Lafferty to thank for a goal and two points of their tally while Chris Bogle and Daniel Lynch were also on the scoreboard for Urney. Paraic Meenagh fired over 0-7 for Loughmacrory while Nathan Kelly and former Teamtalk All Star Damian McAleer also kicked points for the visitors. Final Score – Urney 1-5 Loughmacrory 0-13

Stewartstown put down an early marker for the 2015 as they recorded a three point win over Mooortown at home. Last years Division 2 top scorer Gareth Devlin opened his 2015 account with 2-5 while Dan Lowe got Stewartstown’s other goal. Karl O’Hagan slotted home Moortown’s goal while Tony Quinn and Ryan Kelly also scored points for them. Final Score – Stewartstown 3-10 Moortown 1-13

Three first half goals paved the way for Gortin’s 3-4 to 0-10 success at home to Eskra. Diarmaid McNulty netted twice after Kevin McCullagh had set them on their way when converting a penalty.  Eskra, who managed only one point in the first half, staged a fight back that included scores from Peter Hughes, Joe McCarroll and Paul Meegan but in the end their efforts came up short. Final score – Gortin 3-4 Eskra 0-10

County attacker Darren McCurry was in unstoppable form as he kicked sixteen points as Edendork won at Killeeshil. Conn Kilpatrick got the St.Malachys goal as it finished 1-20 to 1-9, Aaron McKenna with the Killeeshil major and Packie McMullan getting a few points. Final Score – Killeeshil 1-9 Edendork 1-10
