The second semi final of the Paul Mc Girr Tournament took place on Sunday afternoon at Gardrum Park under rain laden skies. Armagh champions and pre-match favourites Dromintee produced a very assured display to make it through to the final on a score line of 0-11 to 0-3.
There was little between the teams after a competitive first half which saw the scores level at 0-3 apiece at the short whistle. Dromintee however with Gavin O”Rourke outstanding at the back stamped their authority on the game with an impressive second half showing. They held the Down champions scoreless in the second half and ran out convincing and deserved 0-11 to 0-3 winners.
Diarmuid O’Rourke and Fergus Toale led the line superbly and carried most of the creative and scoring threat for the winners. The winners can now look forward to a clash with Tyrone champions Errigal Ciaran in the final.
