Dromore Win Under 13 Title

Dromore lifted the under 13 title this afternoon after a convincing win over Cappagh at Clanabogan with centre forward Oran Sludden top scoring with 1-7 for the St Dympnas. The foundations for this victory were laid in the first half when the winners built up an eighteen point lead reaching the break leading 3-09 to no score with their goals coming from Sludden, Joe McCusker and Cahir Goodwin.

Cappagh looked sluggish during this period and were thankful goalkeeper Rian Mc Caul was in top form counting a first half penalty stop among many fine saves over the course of the game. Cappagh improved considerably in the second half with Odhran Potter, PT Cunningham, Jordan Barton, Luke and Matthew Murnaghan producing super second half displays. Unfortunately for the Ballinamullen lads Dromore’s first half lead and defensive strength ensured the title went up the road to Gardrum Park. Johnny Macrory and Nathan Mc Carron were also among the point scorers for their side while Ciaran Mc Dermott and Caolan Slevin were outstanding at the back for the winners.
