Drumquin Squeeze Past Gallant Galbally

Drumquin recovered from a poor opening half to lift the Division Four title defeating Galbally on a score of 1-13 to 3-5.
Galbally were the better side in the first half with Rachel Kelly, Mary Traynor, Niamh Donnelly and Ciara Kelly causing all sorts of problems for the Drumquin defence. The pace and movement of the front six created numerous chances and the half time score of 2-2 to 0-6 for Galbally was a fair reflection on the game.
The Galbally defence were also outstanding with goalkeeper Laura Kane producing numerous fine saves and team captain Shannon Mc Keown a tower of strength throughout.
For Drumquin whatever was said during the half time interval helped turn the game around, They outscored Galbally in the second half 1-7 to 1-3 with Sarah Louise Mc Laughlin’s accuracy vital. Sophie Coll, Nollaig Donnelly, Jolene Mc Menamin, Meabh Donnelly and goalkeeper Maeve Teague all contributed handsomely to their win.
