Drumquin and Urney served up an entertaining and compelling game of football before the Wolfe Tones came back to defeat the border men 4-4 to 2-6 in the Grade 4 final at Killyclogher.

There was little between the sides in the first half before Jamie Mc Aleer bagged Drumquin’s first goal of the game on sixteen minutes. That put them 1-2 to 0-3 in front and they extended that lead to 2-2 to 0-3 when Louis Anthony capitalised on hesitancy in the Urney defence.

However Drumquin then lost their way somewhat as Darryl Maxwell and Danny Doherty inspired an Urney comeback. Maxwell hit the net just before the break while both players shared four early second half points to move Urney 2-6 to 2-2 in front.

Drumquin did not score until the twenty second minute of the second half when a point from Stephen Mc Goldrick began the charge. Goals from Cormac Rodgers and James O’Kane turned the game and the result on its head as Drumquin held on for the win.
