WHEN –        14th to 16th August @ Clanabogan Park.

ACTS –            Derek Ryan, The Kilkennys, and Drumragh Does Strictly  plus supporting acts.

Call it luck or just good timing but the good people of Tyrone and neighbouring counties are about to be treated to an epic Irish music experience.

Irish music sensations Derek Ryan and The Kilkennys will set Clanabogan Park alight on 14th and 15th August when both acts take to the stage to headline the Drumragh Summer Festival. The festival wraps up with Drumragh’s version of Strictly Come Dancing with eight local couples waltzing, jiving and cha-cha-cha-ing their way to ballroom glory.  Host, Noel McGinn, finds himself keeping Drumragh’s guest judges in check.  Head judge, old twinkle toes himself, Alec Kyle, is hoping for clean lines and perfect placement.  “We may have an All Star dancing but I hope he has more in his locker than a sweet left foot”.

The Kilkennys are at the very forefront of the new generation of folk groups taking Irish music to the world.  Touring this year across Holland, Belgium, Germany and Eastern Europe they stop off in Omagh before heading to the U.S. and Australia.  The reputation of this youthful and energetic four piece group continues to grow well beyond these shores and this is a must act to see for all music lovers. The show features, arguably, the best new folk band to emerge from Ireland for years.  Receiving standing ovations and critical acclaim wherever they appear, The Kilkennys will provide an unforgettable, energy filled, toe tapping and hand clapping night of entertainment mingled with some of Ireland’s most prolific songs and ballads.

Derek Ryan needs no introduction and his love and passion for country are best measured in his song writing ability as was seen in his debut single ‘God’s Plan’ receiving enormous airplay and a deafening call from fans to get on the road to play his hits live. From that moment Derek rarely has a day off, travelling across Ireland playing in crowded Irish dance halls and most recently performing at sell out concerts in England and Scotland. Derek turns his head to the Drumragh Summer Festival on 14th August and tickets are already at a premium.

The Drumragh Summer Festival also sees eight couples from the Club taking part in Drumragh Does Strictly. This grand contest will take place on Saturday 16th with each couple performing three dances in a bid to find a Champion Couple. The couples are taking part in rigorous training and are hoping for a standing ovation when they take to the stage.

Tickets are selling fast and early booking is advised with tickets available from local shops and www.drumraghsummerfest.com.
