St.Patricks Academy Dungannon go in search of their third MacRory Cup title in four years and their sixth overall when they take on holders St.Colmans Newry in what has all the makings of a cracking contest at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh this afternoon. Both sides are in the final on merit and Dungannon manager Ciaran Gourley is looking forward to the occasion.

“St.Colmans are renowned for the type of football that they play and hopefully we can live up to their standard of football as well and hopefully on the day it’s a great match and from our point of view with a bit of luck we will come out on the right side of the result. You can look at past encounters between the two schools especially at MacRory Cup level but its two news teams. They have had some tight meetings before. You only have to look at last year’s semi final when they beat us by four points in the end while the year before it was even closer so there is never much between the two teams.”

The Academy will look for big performances from the likes of Shea McGarrity, Eunan Deeney, Harry Og Conlon, Ryan Devlin, Liam Gervin, Sean Molloy, Keifer Morgan and team captain Colm McFall and there is no reason why they can’t be celebrating this afternoon after a clash that is expected to go right to the wire.
