Naomh Treasa Dungannon made it back to back Junior Camogie titles after a well deserved  5-7 to 1-7 win over Brocagh in Sunday evening’s final at Tattyreagh.

Brocagh played with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half but a determined Dungannon display meant the Naomh Brid girls reached the break leading only by three. Danielle Donohoe, Faustina Canavan and Sally Mc Donald were outstanding for Brocagh during that opening thirty minutes but they would have been hoping for a bigger lead at half time. Sally Mc Donald landed all five of her team’s points with the goal coming off the stick of Niamh Mc Donald.

However Dungannon made them work very hard for every score with Cora Mc Nulty, Roisin Mc Erlane and Laura Barker dominating possession and turning defence into attack at every opportunity. Their tenacity was rewarded with a flicked goal from Pauline Barker and a brace of points from the stick of the very impressive Roisin Mc Erlane.

Naomh Treasa made the perfect start to the second half with a goal and a point inside the opening two minutes to put them ahead. It was a lead they would maintain right to the end. Pauline Barker, Cliodhna Colton and Roisin Mc Erlane all hit goals as the Dungannon girls peppered the Brocagh defence at every opportunity. Even when Brocagh managed to move possession into their forward line they found the Dungannon defence in uncompromising mood.  Cora Mc Nulty, Aine Mc Nulty and Cara Little were outstanding and were central to restricting Brocagh to only two points in the second half.

Final Score: Dungannon 5-7, Brocagh 1-7.

Scorers:

Dungannon; Roisin Mc Erlane 1-4, Pauline Barker 2-0, Cliodhna Colton 2-1, Corinna Donnelly 0-1, Aoife Morgan 0-1.

Brocagh: Sally Mc Donald 0-6, Niamh Mc Donald 1-0, Faustina Canavan 0-1. Â
