Dungannon Clarkes are through to the semi final of the Tyrone Intermediate championship following a one point victory over Gortin in Galbally on Saturday night. The Clarkes led by a single point at the break 0-5 to 0-4 thanks to scores from team captain Keifer Morgan. Gortin were perhaps the better side during that opening period when despite playing into the face of a stiff breeze and squally showers they stopped many Dungannon attacks.  Brian McGarvey and Kevin Mossey were particularly active for the St Patrick’s men during this time.

After the break Gortin looked like they may get a foothold in the game when Diarmuid McNulty and Shane Clarke started to get on a bit of ball.  However Dugannon through the excellent Matthew Walsh, Patrick Quinn and Keifer Morgan upped their workrate and took control of the game.  Entering into the last five minutes the Clarke found themselves four points ahead but Gortin came back once again and points from Mossey and McNulty got them back to within one.  However Dungannon midfielder Padraig McNulty fielded a number of high balls at crucial time in the closing stages to help see the Clarkes over the winning line.  Final Score – Dungannon 0-11 Gortin 0-10
