Edendork Edge The Verdict
Saturday 15.09.2018
Edendork took their place in the last eight of the LCC Group Senior championship when they edged past Moy 0-10 to 0-9 at O’Neill Park in Dungannon.
Scores may have been at a premium throughout but cards certainly weren’t as there were twenty yellows, six reds and one black over the course of the contest. Michael Conroy and Harry Loughran put Moy into an early two point lead before Edendork hit seven in a row with Darren McCurry getting five of those and Jake Ferguson and Lorcan Conlon also on target. During that spell Moy lost Sean Cavanagh to injury while both sides were reduced to fourteen men. Conroy had the final say of the half as the winners led 0-7 to 0-3 at the break.
McCurry opened the second half scoring but Moy responded through Conroy and Ryan Coleman. Niall Morgan then landed a monster free but Moy were sticking to the task at hand with Declan Conroy, Coleman and Michael Conroy helping to reduce the deficit to the minimum. Both sides lost another two players each either side of Michael Conroy levelling matters. Extra time looked to be on the cards until McCurry won the day with a brilliant effort from out on the right wing, his 7th of the game.
