ULSTER IFC | Edendork Lose Out
Sunday 01.11.2015
A poor display in the first half as well as the final quarter saw Edendork crash out of the Ulster Intermediate championship when they were beaten in the first round by Down champions Loughinisland. Neither side scored in the opening quarter before the visitors took control. Paddy McKenny, Rory Mason, Dan Gordon and Conor Megoran helped the Down men establish a five point lead before Niall Morgan got Edendork off the mark in first half injury time.
Leading 0-6 to 0-1 at halftime Aaron McClements pushed the winners further in front on the restart before Edendork enjoyed a blistering spell. John McGuckin flicked in a goal and after Darren McCurry got a point Jake Ferguson grabbed another goal. At this stage the Tyrone champions led by two points but they were to score just once more. Mason, McClements and Paddy McKenny all scored points with the former also scoring a goal as it finished 1-13 to 2-5.
