Edendork See Off Tatts To Make Final

Edendork are through to the LCC Tyrone Intermediate Championship final but only after they were pushed all the way by a determined Tattyreagh outfit on a 4-15 to 4-7 score line.
Lorcan Martin’s charges came into this game as raging hot favourites and seemed to justify that tag with a blistering opening that saw them leading 1-3 to a point after seven minutes. A Harry Óg Conlon goal and points from Darren Mc Curry (2) and Daire Conway appeared to put the favourites in command. But this was Sunday evening and the LCC Tyrone Intermediate Championship so something was bound to happen.
Joe Cartin bagged a goal for the Tatts to narrow the gap before Mc Curry and James Darcy swapped points for their teams. Edendork hit a real purple patch inside the next eight minutes with goals from Cain Ferguson (2) and Conor Mallon and points from Mc Curry and Conlon to put their team in total control. John Harkin then pointed to give his side hope and when Declan Gallagher hit the net on the stroke of half time to leave the score at the break 4-8 to 2-3 we all wondered was the comeback on.
The Tatts started the second half on fire with an early James Darcy point and a goal from the boot of Johnny Harkin. Con Kilpatrick and Darren Mc Curry clipped over points for Edendork but Tattyreagh refused to give up. Robert Porter and Johnny Harkin hit points before Joe Cartin bagged his second and the eighth goal of the game to leave his team trailing 4-11 to 4-7 with eight minutes of the match remaining.
It was another full blooded game of Tyrone championship football with no quarter asked or given. Tattyreagh battled hard to close the gap but depleted energy levels and time were against them as Conor Mallon, Darren Mc Curry and Jack Donnelly scored late points for Edendork to leave the final score 4-15 to 4-7 in their favour and secure a place in the final against Gortin.
