Edendork are into the last 8 of the Connollys Of Moy senior championship after coming from behind to beat Dromore in a brilliant encounter at Plunkett Park in Pomeroy.

With four minutes of normal time left to play the St.Malachys trailed by two points but they produced a rousing finish to make it through to a quarter final meeting with Carrickmore.

By the 13th minute wind assisted Dromore had established a 1-4 to 0-2 lead with Adrian McGurren getting the goal and Brian Gallagher and McGurren providing points. Darren McCurry and Paudi Dillon exchanged points before a brilliant two pointer from a Niall Morgan free reduced the deficit. Conor Mallon and a two pointer from Harry Og Conlon gave Edendork the lead before Dromore keeper Mark McGale had the final say with a free from outside the arc to leave it 1-8 to 0-9.

Points from Brian Gallagher and Peter Teague stretched that advantage on the restart but in the 37th minute Edendork were right back in contention when Cormac Mallaghan palmed to the net from close range. Jake Ferguson and Dillon traded points as did Dillon and McCurry before McCurry knocked over a two pointer.

Dillon then got in for a brilliant goal but back came Edendork with a Rian Nelis point. Oran Sludden then blasted over from close range to leave it 2-13 to 1-14. That’s when Edendork really upped the ante with Morgan setting up Patrick McLernon for a point. With GO Power Man of the match Conn Kilpatrick getting through a mountain of work the winners kicked on with points from James Fearon and Morgan before McLernon bagged a crucial goal. Dillon landed a two pointer as well as a single but Edendork weren’t to be denied and they sealed it with a two pointer from a McCurry free.
