Edendork unveiled a new-style playing kit today, when they wore the Opt For Life logo for the first time in their league game against Derrytresk.

The club has affirmed its support for Joe Brolly’s organ donation campaign, and joins a number of inter-county teams, who are also sporting the Opt For Life emblem this season.

Former Derry star and TV pundit Brolly will be in Edendork next week, when he appears in a special function promoted by St Malachy’s GAC and Opt For Life.

Liverpool and Republic of Ireland legend Ronnie Whelan is the latest big name to join the guest list for ‘A Question of Sport’ on Friday June 28, with leading personalities from a range of sports taking part.

Champion jockey Davy Russell will also take part, along with former Kerry midfielder Darragh O Se.

Ex-Commonwealth boxing champion Martin Rogan, former Ireland rugby captain Willie Anderson and Tyrone’s free-scoring goalkeeper Niall Morgan will also test their knowledge in Edendork Hall.

Former Derry star and RTE pundit Brolly will captain one of the teams, the other led by Tyrone legend Peter Canavan.

A chat show will form the second part of a packed programme, and the Edendork club has lined up an additional selection of well known GAA personalities to debate the burning issues of the day.

Among these are Crossmaglen and Armagh star Oisin McConville, Donegal All-Ireland winner Martin McHugh, former top referee Brian Crowe, Tyrone treble All-Ireland winner Ryan McMenamin, ex-Cork star and TV pundit Tony Davis, former Armagh player and manager Brian Canavan, ex-Waterford hurler John Mullane, and more.

Hosting both sections of the programme will be former All-Star and Armagh player Jimmy Smyth, also a noted GAA match commentator.

“It promises to be a great evening for sporting enthusiasts,” said  Edendork St Malachy’s chairman Brendan Nelis.

“We have a number of household names from a variety of sports taking part, and we are delighted to welcome them to Edendork Hall on June 28.
