Eglish made the short journey to Augher on Friday evening and continued their fine start to the new season with a 3-12 to 0-11 win over their hosts.

Two goals in the space of three minutes midway through the first half proved decisive but in truth the winners were much the better side throughout the course of the game.

Emmett Mc Kenna and Matthew Mc Gleenan hit four points apiece for their side while Seamus Muldoon, Paul Mason and Mark Donnelly bagged the all important goals.

For a disappointing Augher side only Darragh Kavanagh (6) and Raymond Mc Elroy (2) carried any real scoring threat.

In the night’s other game a late flurry of scores including the all important goal meant Tattyreagh joined Eglish at the top of the table with three wins from three starts. Derrytresk, with Niall Gavin in fine scoring form, had led for most of the game before Tattyreagh’s late surge sealed the win for Stephen Mc Hugh’s side.
