Eglish 2-17 Keady 1-7
Eglish emerged emphatic winners over Keady in the Ulster Intermediate League Final at Pairc Cormaic on Tuesday evening to deservedly take the silverware. It was a fine all round team display from the St.Paricks with their defence on top throughout while up front they landed a number of eye catching scores with Luke Donnelly on fire finishing with an impressive 0-11 to his name.
The winners led 0-10 to 0-3 at the break and in truth they never looked to be in any danger after that. Donnelly, Turlough Muldoon, Emmet McKenna and Jack Muldoon were among their points with team Captain Ryan McKenna and Mattie McGleenan on top in midfield and the likes of Conal McNulty and Caolan Donaghy giving precious little away at the back. Ciaran Donnelly hit a two pointer for Keady.
Donnelly tagged on his second two pointer of the contest on the restart, this time from a placed ball, before Turlough Muldoon fired in a brilliant goal to the top right hand corner of the net. James O’Hara and Johnny Nugent had points for the visitors while Barry Molloy got their goal but on a night when they finished with fourteen men they were well beaten with Enda O’Donnell putting the icing on the cake for Eglish with a late major.
Eglish scorers: Luke Donnelly 0-11 (3F, 1 x 2 pt, 1 x 2 ptF), Turlough Muldoon 1-2, Enda O’Donnell 1-0, Jack Muldoon 0-1, Ryan Donnelly 0-1, Ciaran Donnelly 0-1, Emmet McKenna 0-1
