Eire Óg Advance After Win Over St Pauls
Sunday 27.10.2024
Eire Óg are through to the semi final of the Bridie Mc Menamin Shield after a 2-9 to 0-9 win over Antrim side St Pauls at Carrickmore on Sunday afternoon.
Two first half goals put them in a strong position at the break with Ashlene Hackett and Sorcha Gormley finding the net. However it was the accuracy of Aoibhinn Daly from frees and Eire Óg’s ability to cope better with conditions that kept the Tyrone champions on course for victory. Daly hit 0-9 of her team’s tally and was prominently involved in all of her team’s best moves.

St Pauls will feel they could have got more from the game but in truth they were half a yard slower when it mattered most particularly in the second half. Their scorers on the day were Fionnghuala Rocks (0-3), Rebecca Mc Conville (0-5) Saorlaith Brenna (0-1).
Eire Óg can now look forward to a semi final clash with Donegal side Burt.
