A superb second half display from Eire Óg at Ballinascreen on Sunday helped the Tyrone champions to the Ulster Minor Hurling Shield title against Armagh side Craobh Ciaran on a score line of 1-12 to 0-9.

Played in difficult conditions, and despite playing wind assisted in the first half, the Carrickmore based side went in at the break only three ahead with Aidan Woods and Francie Hurson among the points.

Eire Óg introduced Kevin Cuddy at the start of the second half and that change had a huge bearing on the outcome. Cuddy’s all action style and constant running caused all sorts of difficulties for the Armagh defence as he finished the game with 1-2 to his name. Aidan Woods and Shea Munroe also chipped in with vital points as Eire Óg produced a superb second half to lift the title on a final score of 1-12 to 0-9.
