League champions Clogher eased into the last eight of the LCC Tyrone Junior championship when they secured an impressive 3-16 to 0-11 win over Drumquin at Fintona on Friday evening.

The Wolfe Tones played against the wind in the first half but they gave as good as they got in the opening ten minutes against last season’s beaten finalists. Michael McCaughey landed the opening two points of the game but defender Daniel McSwiggan and  Paul Sheridan helped Drumquin draw level at 0-3 apiece. From there until the break though Clogher assumed control with Marc McConnell, Mark Bogue, keeper Rory McElroy and Ryan McCaughey all among the points with the latter also bagging a late goal to leave it 1-12 to 0-4 at the short whistle.

Frank McAlynn and Cormac Rodgers both pointed to close the gap on the restart but when Clogher Captain Bogue first timed the ball to the left corner of the net in the 37th minute it was all over bar the shouting. Ryan McCaughey took his personal haul to 1-6 with McConnell on target as well. Liam Patterson and Sean McDonagh had Drumquin points before substitute Fergal McKenna put the icing on the cake with a third major for the Eire Ogs.
