St.Michaels Enniskillen are through to the MacRory Cup final on St.Patrick’s Day after edging out a fancied St.Pat’s Maghera side in a gripping clash at Loughmacrory on Saturday afternoon. The Derry lads led at halftime thanks to an opportunist goal from Alex Doherty, Conleth McGuckian and Michael Glynn with points for their respective sides.

Doherty and McGlynn had second half points before an goal from wing back Eunan Mulholland put Maghera four in front and in a strong position. Despite playing against the wind St.Michaels showed great resolve to fight back with points from Glynn, Conor Love, Darragh McBrien and substitute Garvan Quigley to make the decider.

The action then moved onto Dunmoyle as Omagh CBS and St.Pats Armagh met in a repeat of the recent MacCormack Cup final. This was to be a different game however. Omagh began well with Liam Gray and Simon Garrity among their points but Armagh closed the gap to the minimum at the break with a goal from Dillon Horsfield, a score that shouldn’t have counted as there was a double bounce in the build-up to it.

In the second half Gray and Michael Conroy swapped points before Sean McDonagh, Daniel Fullerton and Aodhan McConnell helped Omagh move three clear with time running out. Dee[p into injury time Armagh were awarded a penalty for a foot block and Conroy held his nerve to convert with the last kick of the game as it finished 0-12 to 2-6. The replay takes place at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh this Wednesday evening.
