Moortown and Donaghmore played out an entertaining 1-13 to 1-13 draw on Wednesday evening after both sides were level on ten separate occasions during the course of this rearranged game. With home advantage and a five point lead at one stage Moortown may well feel they let the chance of a huge two points slip.

There was little between the sides in the first half with both enjoying plenty of possession and both creating numerous chances but neither team managed to put clear daylight between them. Peter Devlin and Ryan Kelly were on target with points for the home side while Cormac Mc Cann, Noah Grimes and Ryan Cush scores made sure the sides went off tied at the break 0-8 apiece.

A Peter Devlin point put Moortown ahead at the start of the second half but a brace of Donaghmore  points from Ronan Cassidy gave his side the lead. Moortown’s response was almost immediate and a strong run from Paul Quinn set up Tarlach Quinn for a goal to put Moortown ahead. Further points from Ryan Kelly and Rian Smith (2) stretched that lead to five.

Donaghmore steadied the ship and a Ciaran Donnelly goal with nine minutes remaining gave his side hope. A brace of Conor Cush points levelled the game with less than four minutes remaining. Back came Moortown to lead again following a converted mark from Shea Lawn.

However the spoils were shared when Cormac Mc Cann stepped up to level the game with a last minute free and a point apiece. Final score: Moortown 1-13, Donaghmore 1-13.
