Eoghan Ruadh secured the Under 14 treble today after winning the Championship in a very competitive game in Cookstown. Eire Og, having lost out to the Ruadh in both the league and the Feile performed much better this time out and were always in the game until the final few minutes.

The sides exchanged points early on before Darragh McPhilips pulled on a loose  ball and hit the net for Eire Og putting them into a two point lead. The Dungannon men reacted strongly with points from Roman Molloy, Leo Hughes and Kevin McGeary.

Conan McGarvey was on target with a few frees for Eire Og before Leo Hughes burst through to find the net for Dungannon leaving the half time scoreline Eoghan Ruadh 1.10 Eire Og 1.05

The second half remained a close affair but Hughes and Molloy punished some loose defending with scores from frees and play. Eire Og found scores harder to come by while at the other end Conan McGarvey scored a fine individual goal to reduce the deficit. Ronan Molloy goaled for Dungannon to maintain an 8 point lead. The Ruadh men sent over another few points to finish the game 11 point winners. Final score Eoghan Ruadh 2.17 Eire Og 2.06.

Eoghan Ruadh have once again won every underage trophy they played for within Tyrone. Well done also to Fintona after they won their first hurling trophy since the club reformed winning the under 14 B Championship, defeating NCC in today’s final.
