Errigal Ciaran will play Trillick in the LCC Senior championship final after the Dunmoyle based men overcame neighbours and old rivals Carrickmore at O’Neill Park in Dungannon on Sunday evening.

A long range Mickey Donaghy free opened the scoring in the 2nd minute but that proved to be the only time that Carrickmore would have their noses in front in the contest. Paudge McAnenly levelled matters before Peter Harte and Ben McDonnell put the winners two in front. A sharp turn from Martin Penrose resulted in a Carrickmore score before Rory Grimes levelled matters in the 11th minute. Eight minutes later the crucial score of the game arrived when Darragh Canavan held off a challenge to brilliantly blast the ball to the top left hand corner of the net. Harte added a brilliant point with the last kick of the half for a 1-4 to 0-3 interval lead.

Harte and Donaghy traded points from frees on the restart before the former made no mistake with a long range conversion as well. Sean Donnelly took a good point for Carrickmore but Errigal Ciaran were able to respond with Harte knocking over two frees the second of which was a sublime effort from fully 48m out. To their credit Carrickmore kept battling away with Niall Allison, Donaghy and substitute Conor Gormley  notching points. Errigal though booked their place in the decider with further points from Harte and McAnenly.
