Errigal Thirds Defeat Urney

Errigal Ciaran Thirds entertained Urney at the weekend and came out on top after a competitive game. With Ryan and Kyle Henry leading the line for the border men Urney took the lead after nine minutes.

Errigal were slow to start but eventually after fifteen minutes Colm Mellon opened their  scoring from play after fifteen minutes which was followed up by a point from the boot of Barry Donnelly. Colm Mellon added a brace of points before Urney replied with a point from play. This was followed by a well crafted goal from Colm Mellon. A Davy Harte point was followed up by Urney’s third point of the half.

The sides swapped points before Davy Harte finished a fine move when he took a pass from Darren Carson and blasted to the net. Half time score Errigal Ciaran 2-5, Urney 0-3

Errigal remained on top led by the experience of Mellon and Harte. A penalty save from young goalkeeper Matt Grimes was one of the highlights of the second half as Urney battled to narrow the gap.

Mellon and Harte kept chipping away and Errigal  finally got their first two points on the board.
