Eskra Lose Out in Ulster Final
Saturday 30.11.2013
Eskra Emmett’s suffered a five points defeat in the Ulster Intermediate Championship final in the Athletic Grounds this evening. Monaghan champions Truagh were very impressive winners with their full forward duo of Christopher and Daniel McKenna finishing the match with 0-7 between them.
Eskra failed to win enough ball around the middle third to really make any impact on the game. Peter Hughes and Joe McCarroll were the pick of the Eskra players on a night when not enough of their top players performed.
The trialled by three points at the break and fell further behind after the restart thanks to points from Paudie McKenna and Rory Treanor. They did have a couple of goal chances towards the end of the game but they found an in form Ian Treanor in the Truagh goal in excellent form. Final score – Truagh 0-17 Eskra 0-12
