Feile Success For Eire Óg Girls

Éire Óg Feile camogs made the long journey to St Mary’s Rosslareto take part in the All Ireland Feile on Saturday 22nd of June following on from last year’s success of capturing the Tyrone Feile for the first time. The Carrickmore based side retained their title after a close game with Dungannon Naomh Treasa Éire Óg emerged winners by two points.

In the first group game on Saturday morning our young camogs faced the reigning All Ireland champions Carnew Emmett’s who had defeated Éire Óg in last year’s final. In a fantastic display of outstanding team work Éire Óg came out on top with a score line of Éire Óg 0.6 Carnew 1.1

Scorers for Éire Óg: Annie Fox Mc Glone 0.3, Aoibha Kerr 0.2. Katie Marley 0.1

Next up in the group games was the host Club St Marty’s Rosslare. After a game that could have gone either way Rosslare emerged winners on a score line of St Mary’s 2.1 Éire Óg 0.4.

Third and final group game saw Westport of Mayo provide the opposition. In a dominant display Éire Óg qualified for the cup semifinal on a score line of Éire Óg 3.7 Westport 0.1

Facing the winners of group 2 Setanta of Carlow a very close first half ended with Éire Óg ahead by one point to no score. Eire Óg turned on the style in the second period out scoring their opponents 2.4 to 0.1 to leave the final.score Éire Óg 2.5 Setanta 0.1

In the final St Marys the hosts and undefeated all day provided the opposition the Éire Óg ladies produced their best display of the day to win 2.3 1.3
