The TTM team are saddened to learn of the passing of Augher and Tyrone man Fergal McCann. Fergal will be remembered as the man who coached Tyrone to the 2005 and 2008 All Ireland Final wins as well as the three Ulster Senior Football Championship Final victories in 2007, 2009 and 2010. Fergal took over as Tyrone Senior Football coach in 2004 and would go on to guide the player preparation for some of the biggest games in our history over the course of the next decade.

Perhaps his most remarkable coaching performance of all was the ten game run which saw Tyrone annex the All Ireland Senior Football Championship in 2005. At the time Mickey Harte described it as “a master class in match preparation”. Fergal was taken from us all too soon and we pass on our sincere condolences to his wife Roisin, daughters Aine and Aoife, his sister Lisa and his mother Maura.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
