Fianna Claim Grade 3 Title

Coalisland 3-5 Killeeshil 0-12
Coalisland won the grade three U14 Championship title when they just did enough to hold off a determined Killeeshil side at the excellent Stewartstown Harps field on Saturday afternoon. The Fianna got off to a great start with a 6th minute Simon Vallely goal after Charlie Hughes had opened the scoring for Killeeshil.
Naoise Woods and Peter O’Neill added points for the winners but Killeeshil responded with scores from Jude Sommerville, Barry Daly and Hughes. a Ronan Gowdy goal helped the winners lead 2-3 to 0-6 at the break, Bobby Foster and Hughes with further Killeeshil points.
Killeeshil were against the wind in the second half but they were playing the better football and four frees in a row plus one from play from impressive centre half forward Hughes had them in front. Brendan Quinn was having a superb game at full back for Killeeshil to keep Coalisland at bay. Tommy O’Neill and Hughes exchanged points from frees before Ghost Pizza man of the match Aronas Abaravicius scored a third Coalisland goal in the 53rd minute. It proved to be a crucial score and another free from the boot of O’Neill ensured victory.
