Coalisland lifted the Grade 2 under 21 title on Sunday afternoon following their four point win over Moy.

Eoghan Rankin opened the scoring for Coalisland but Moy responded with two points of their own through Michael Conroy to move ahead. Tiarnan Quinn drew the sides level before Conroy scored again for Moy only to see Coalisland equalise  with another score from Rankin. Conroy added a goal before a brace of points from Quinn plus a fine score from Bailey Leonard tied the game again.

Coalisland hit the front with a goal from Fintan Coney but points from Gavin Kelly, Jamie Coleman and Shane Mackle tied the game again. However the Fianna went in at the break one in front when Tiarnan Quinn shot a point to leave the half time score 1-7 to 1-6.

Moy opened the scoring in the second half with a fine point from midfielder Adam Donaghy. Coalisland then began to dominate possession and created two clear goal scoring chances only for Coney and Philip Gervin to fluff their lines.

The Fianna did hit the net ten minutes into the second half when Rankin’s hard work was rewarded. Quinn pointed to stretch the lead to four before Conroy reduced the deficit with a fine point.

Both sides had further chances but all they could manage was a brace of points each and Coalisland deservedly claimed the title on a final score of 2-11 to 1-10.
