As the game approached the half time whistle a further point apiece from Cormac O’Hagan and Adam Donaghy looked like the sides would go into the break level. However, a Peter Heron point just ahead of the break meant Coalisland went in with a single point led. Half time – Coalisland 0-5 Moy 0-4.
With the wind advantage in the second half Coalisland took control of the scoreboard. Two excellent long range frees from Sean Corr were followed up by a Paddy McNeice goal. Moy might well have folded but they brought in Eunan Deeney and Sean Cavanagh and to their credit they hit back with a point from Michael Conroy and a goal from Colm Cavanagh. If that gave them some hope Tiernan Quinn took it away smashing the ball to the Moy net inside the last ten minutes. Bailey Leonard also got on the scoresheet as the Fianna eased to a six point victory.
