Final Division 3 Fixture Completed

The final fixture in the Mc Girr Bros Quarries Division Three took place on Monday evening and resulted in a convincing win for Errigal Thirds over north Tyrone side Clann na nGael.
Both teams found the conditions difficult to cope with early on due to the heavy rain. Errigal struggled to get going until the 14th minute when a shot came back off the post and Shane Donaghy rebounded it into the top corner of the net.
There was nothing between the teams in the opening quarter with the sides level 1-0 0-3 after 17 minutes. CNG finished the half strongly with three converted frees but a Cathair Quinn point for Errigal left the half time score CNG 0-6, Errigal 1-1.
Errigal began the second half like they meant business. Straight from the throw in O Sullivan slotted over to add to their total. They then pressed high on the next three kick outs turning each of them resulting in three fine points by O Sullivan Donaghy and McAleer. A well struck Jarly Harte free moments later stretched the lead further.
CNG tried manfully to get back into the game but the Errigal defence stood strong and they added a further 1-1 late in the contest courtesy of O’Sullivan to seal the win on a final score of CNG 0-8 Errigal Thirds 2-9.
