It was a case of easy double winners this afternoon at Garvaghey as both Tyrone minor teams enjoyed comfortable wins in their respective minor league games. The footballers had Fermanagh on the back foot right from the off and with Lee Brennan and Conor Mc Kenna in fine scoring form soon opened up a 4-4 to no score tally. The gulf between the team was evident from early on and even though Mickey Donnelly made several changes and his team finished the game with thirteen players following a red card and an injury after the quota of subs had been used , there was never any doubt about the outcome.

After a dominant showing in the first half Tyrone continued to control the game following the restart with further goals from Corless, Carney and an own goal from the Fermanagh keeper. The Red Hands missed as many chances as they created but their ability to tag on scores at will merely emphasised just how far apart these two teams are. The game finished with the home side winning comfortably 7-20 to 1-4.

The hurlers also enjoyed a high scoring win to build on last week’s fine away victory. In a dominant first half they blew Louth out of the water with some great play and fine scoring. Josh Ferguson was on fire again as he hit 5-2 inside the first thirty minutes to add to the 3-3 he scored last week.  Team captain Peadar Daly produced another all action display as Tyrone ran out very convincing 10-15 to 0-1 winners. Among the scorers in the second period were Ferguson again, Jason Maxwell, Dean Rafferty and Sean Timlin.
