Fintona Celebrate League Title With Win

Fintona made the short journey across to Clanabogan on Tuesday evening for a match that would not only confirm them as Division Three champions but would give their supporters a chance to celebrate their promotion back to Division Two.
Both teams rested several key players but they still managed to take to the field with strong line-outs. Fintona hit the ground running and with Peter Colton, Aaron Mc Carney and Eugene Colton in good form the Pearses began to build a lead. With less than twenty minutes on the clock they led 0-8 to 0-1 withDrumragh’s solitary point coming from Kian Murphy.
Drumragh did manage to improve during the closing ten minutes of the first half with scores from Niall Mc Carney and Conor Gormley to reach the break 0-12 to 0-6 behind.
The second half saw Fintona continue to dominate while both sides managed to create chances. The Pearses outscored their opponents 6-4 over the course of the second thirty minutes as they counted down the minutes until they received the Division 3 league trophy from Pat Mc Atee. One proud Fintona man presenting the trophy to another.
