Fintona Win Division Three Reserve Knockout

Although they only managed to score one second half point Fintona Pearses held on to defeat Brackaville 1-5 to 0-7 in the final of the Division Three Reserve Knockout. Played in very difficult conditions at Killeeshil the winners coped best to lead at the break 1-4 to 0-5 with their goal coming from Sean Henry while Niall Donnelly hit a couple of fine points to ensure his team went in two points in front at the break. Fintona’s solitary second half score came courtesy of a first minute free kick from Pauric Kelly. Conditions made good football difficult and scoring chances were few and far between. Brackaville did have a late chance to level the game but a Paul Rouse free struck the post and the Pearses held on for a narrow one point win.
