It’s first blood to big Oz McCallan as he saved Barry McElduff’s spot kick at St.James GAC in Galway this morning as the 32-32-32 challenge got underway. Keeper Plunkett, who played in more Tyrone senior championship finals than any other player in the county, made a terrific save to leave Barry dejected.

“Oz pulled off an epicurean save in front of a strong, local crowd,” said Barry.

“We were hosted unbelievably well by the club and county officials and now we are on our way to the St.Josephs Doora Barefield club in Clare. I’m feeling dejected about missing the penalty and Oz has now gained a psychological edge and Cathal [Campbell] keeps shaking the head at me as if I’ve let the people down.”

Can Barry level matters in the Banner county? Follow teamtalkmag.com to find out. “Keep Her Lit” boys!!!
