First Points for Eglish
Eglish played host to Greencastle on Thursday evening in division one in a clash that featured two sides who had lost first day out and it was the home side who secured the points thanks to an emphatic 4-14 to 0-12 victory.
Big Enda Clarke hit two fine marks for the visitors in the first half but they had few other highlights as they trailed 2-9 to 0-3 at the break. Ethan Jordan and Ryan Donnelly bagged two well worked goals with Seamus Muldoon, Luke Donnelly, Dillion Horsfield and Jack Muldoon all supplying points.
Cahir McCullagh had the opening score of the second half but that was cancelled out by Ryan Donnelly before full forward Luke Donnelly palmed in a 35th minute goal to end the game as a contest. Mark Carson then kicked a number of points in a row for Greencastle but Eglish always had the upper hand with Colm Byrne punching in their fourth goal.
