The opening Power NI Junior championship quarter final at Healy Park this evening brings together Brackaville and Drumquin. The Roes are joint league leaders and boast a one hundred percent record and after championship wins over Drumragh and Owen Roes they will start as favourites to advance. Key players for them include Sean Anderson, Conor Gillis, Martin Gervin, Sean Corr and Che O’Donnell.

Drumquin defeated Errigal Ciaran Thirds by five points last time out and they will bid to go one step further than last season when they lost at this stage to eventual winners Derrytresk. Ryan McCallion, Benny Gormley, Frank McAlynn, Paul Sheridan and James Winters are all set to feature for the Wolfe Tones as they bid to upset the odds.

The second game in the double bill sees Brocagh and Fintona go head to head in a tussle that is expected to go right to the wire. It’s a repeat of their semi final meeting a couple of years ago at Augher when the Emmetts came out on top and they are slight favourites to repeat that result. They had to pull out all the stops to edge past Clogher in the first round and will look for big displays here from Michael Hughes, Barry Donnelly, Sean Campbell and Ciaran Donnelly.

Fintona had five points to spare over Beragh in their first round meeting in Killyclogher and the Pearses will go into this game confident that they can reach the semi finals. If they are to do so they will need the likes of Aaron McCarney, Jason Donnelly, Benny McCarney and Mark Donnelly to be on top of their game and don’t be surprised if a replay is required to decide the outcome.
