Five In A Row For Masters
Saturday 13.09.2025
Tyrone 5-10 Donegal 1-9
Tyrone’s historic run in Masters football continued at Breffni Park on Saturday afternoon when they produced a superb display of attacking football to comfortably see off the challenge of Ulster rivals Donegal to make it five All Ireland titles in a row.
Mark Donnelly had the ball in the net inside forty seconds and when his Carrickmore teammate Barry Daly also raised a green flag in the 10th minute the writing was already on the wall for Donegal. Johnny O’Neill tagged on a point before Donegal opened their account in the 13th minute through Shaun Maguire.
Stephen O’Neill converted a free and then picked out Damien McDevitt with an outstanding pass for another score as Tyrone turned the screw. Damien Browne converted a Donegal free but either side of that score Donnelly hit 1-1 to leave it 3-5 to 0-3 at the interval.
O’Neill opened the second half scoring before Marty McGrath ended any hopes of a Donegal comeback with goal number four. Gary Coney and Shane McCann tagged on points and while Brendan Boyle converted a Donegal penalty it was only a consolation score. McCann got goal number five with Martin Conway tagging on a point and while Donegal had the final three scores from Stephen Coyle, Eunan Keaveney and Laurence McMullan it was all over by that stage.
