The Ulster Provincial Games for All Festival was held in St. Mary’s Park, Beragh on Saturday 13th September.

The Beragh Red Knights club were proud to welcome over 300 participants from across the province, as well as Ulster President Michael Geoghegan to take part in what proved to be an amazing day.

The event ran in two separate sessions, where 23 teams took part in matches and different skill zones, including both gaelic football and handball.

The most significant part of the day was the team parades at the beginning of each session. These were led by a piper and some Tyrone County Stars, and concluded with Amhrán na bhFiann. This saw each team, with their club flags and banners, parade around the pitch – the atmosphere was electric and emotions were high!

A notable mention must go to all 100+ club volunteers who helped make this event as special as it was, providing a warm welcome, helpful hand and a passion that was so evident to all.

The smiles on everyone’s faces throughout the day proved its success and the club are still hugely overwhelmed at all the positive feedback they have received – one young player remarked, ‘this is the best day of my life!’

The games for all initiative is one of extreme importance within the GAA. It provides many opportunities for individuals of all ages and abilities to access Gaelic games.

Beragh Red Knights club are proud to be into their third year of their Beragh All Stars team. The All Stars are an integral part of the club – something which was so evident on Saturday past.

The club would also like to thank Ulster GAA for all their help throughout.
