Strabane Sigersons recently hosted their annual Gerry Kelly under 8 Memorial Blitz at Páirc Mhic Sioghair, Strabane with those in attendance participating in a fun filled environment to pay tribute to a former Strabane club vice-president, the late Gerry Kelly.
Strabane had two sides involved with Castlefin Robert Emmetts fielding three sides. There were two teams from Omagh St Enda’s and one apiece from Castlederg St Eugene’s and Lifford Naomh Pádraig.
Following a great morning of football played in excellent weather conditions all of the children received medals to mark their participation.
As always the blitz was played in a very sporting manner and members of the Kelly family including the late Gerry’s wife Peggy were on hand to make the presentations.
Sigersons youth coach Dean Molloy also presented Peggy Kelly with a bouquet of flowers as a token of appreciation and thanked everyone for their attendance going on to pay tribute to the kind of man that the late Gerry Kelly was and the great love that he had for Strabane Sigersons.
