In Grade 1 Donaghmore edged past Cookstown at Father Devlin Park on a 2-9 to 1-9 scoreline. Ultan Quinn converted a penalty in each half for the St.Patricks with Eoghan Donnelly, Ruairi O’Neill and Michael Hetherington among their points with Frankie McGoldrick, Hetherington and Padraig McAshea among their best performers.
Eglish made the trip to play Cappagh and it finished all square. The hosts led 0-6 to 0-2 at the break with Matthew and James Daly the Eglish marksmen. In the second half Eglish pushed on to score a goal through Ronan Quinn after some excellent interplay with Matthew Daly. Cappagh scored again with a goal before Matthew C Daly netted for Eglish. The home side pulled ahead near the end to hold on to a one point lead with sixty minutes played. A final score from Matthew Daly left the sides even at full time. Eglish had good performances from Ronan Quinn, James Daly, Matthew Daly and Daire Fay who put in tremendous work throughout the game.
Ardboe were in fine scoring form on their trip to Loughmacrory. Ciaran McKeown 1-5, Odhran Coleman 1-4, Ruairi O’Neill 0-4 and Matthew Mallon 1-0 were among their scorers with subs Brogan Devlin, Conan Doris and Mallon all making an impression when introduced.
In grade 2 Pomeroy suffered a narrow defeat away to Both Domhnaigh on a 1-7 to 1-5 scoreline. Keeper Aidan Devlin was man of the match for the Plunketts with a number of good saves as well as good distribution with Donnacha Cunningham getting their goal with Shea Rafferty (2), Aodhan Kennedy, Shea Harte and Padraig Murphy their point scorers.
Galbally recorded a comfortable win away to Greencastle. Jayden Dorman, Tierna Corrigan and Jame McKenna were among the scorers for the Pearses with Niall O’Donnell and Gearoid McDonnell both playing well also.
In grade 3 Stewartstown had a hard earned win away to Naomh Brid. Rian Biggs 0-6, Odhran Robinson 1-2, Padraig Doran 0-4, James Hughes 0-2, Conan McCullagh 0-2, Kin Bleeks and Kaiden O’Neill were the Harps marksmen. Naomh Brid had solid defensive displays from Daire O’Neill and Charlie Fee and that helped to facilitate strong running forward from Aidan Quinn and Senan Daly. Caolan McKee was on fire in the forward line scoring a brace of goals as well as an array of points and he was well supported by Odhran Mallon and Patrick Quinn.
Rock turned on the style to beat Moortown at home in a high scoring encounter. Joel Kerr [3-2] and Ronan Loughran [2-4] were in good form in midfield for the winners with Fionn Daly [1-6] to the fore at centre half forward with Aodhan Loughran and Darryl Owens also on target while Ruairi O’Hagan had a great game in goals making a few crucial saves. Ciaran Murphy and Mark Muldoon did most of the scoring for Moortown with Tiernan O’Neill and Eoin Quinn having good games for them as well.
In grade 4 Brackaville were pipped at home by Clogher on a 3-10 to 3-8 scoreline. Ryan O’Neill [1-4], Josh Henderson [1-2], Rian Talbot [1-0] and Adam Callan [0-2] were the scorers for the Roes.
