Ghost Pizza U16 Wrap Up

Eglish turned on the style in the grade 1 U16 Championship to beat Loughmacrory and qualify for the last four. Brian Og McGuckin top scored for the winners with 1-9 to his name with Matthew Daly 2-0, Ryan Gildernew 1-1 and Ethan Gildernew 0-3 all on target as well with good displays coming from John Stewart, Ben Daly and Harry McCann.

 

Donaghmore are also into the semi finals after winning 1-7 to 1-4 away to Cappagh. Eoghan Donnelly 1-1, Ruairi O’Neill 0-3, David McArdle, Charlie Field and Larry Shields were the Donaghmore scorers with George Donaghy, Michael Baird, Michael Hetherington and Marty Ogle all playing well for the winners.

 

Ardboe made the trip to Carrickmore but they came up short on a day when goals proved to be key for the hosts. Odhran Coleman (4) and Dylan Devlin (2) were amongst the points for the Rossas with Jack Muldoon bagging their goal while Cathair McKeown and Conall Molloy both played well for them.

 

 

Dungannon needed two late goals to beat Trillick after extra time in the grade 2 Championship. The Clarkes trailed by one at the break and when Trillick moved five clear on the restart with the wind at their backs they looked to be in control. A late Ronan Daly goal gave the visitors hope before a Max McKenna point took the game to extra time. Both sides registered two points each in extra time and it looked set for a penalty shootout before a Daly point was followed by an Eoin Spence goal as it finished 2-12 to 0-14. Best for the Clarkes were Sewan Og O’Donnell in defence, Eoin Spence in attack and keeper Jorge Teixera who pulled off a few good saves.

 

In grade 3 Edendork were beaten 3-6 to 1-9 at home to Urney in the semi final. John McLernon top scored for the Malachys with 0-6 to his name with Logan O’Connor grabbing their goal and Liam Jordan, Jamie Quinn and Aidan Lamranni scoring a point each.

 

Moy made it through to the decider after winning a high scoring encounter at Drumragh.  Eoghan McGlone, Harry Harvey and Caolann Corr were all on target for the winners with Fionn Lavery, Daniel Kane, Tom McKearney and Conor Garry standing out in their defence.

 

 

 

In the grade 2 League Coalisland were convincing winners away to Pomeroy. Conor Timlin 4-1 and Ronan Lowe 0-8 were in fine form for the Fianna with Daniel Teague 1-0, Dylan Rafferty and Dillon Devlin also contributing on the scoreboard on a day when Hugh John Campbell came off the bench and played his part in the Coalisland victory.

 

 

In the grade 3 League Stewartstown secured a good win away to Aghaloo. Michael Hughes (2), McCullagh and Rian Biggs got the goals for the Harps and they also had points as did Odhran Robinson in a game were Sean Paul Kelly and Paddy Park stood out in the Stewartstown defence.
