Castlederg travelled to Glennelly looking to get the league back on track after a couple of poor results. The Derg played into the wind in the first half and after 10 minutes the scores were level Cathal Nicholas opening the scoring for Glenelly with a point on 6mins. Mark Corry replied with a free before Nicholas then added another point on 14min. Castlederg then broke up the field and the ball fell to Paddy Lynch who rattled the back of the net to give the Derg a 2point lead after 15min. Kevin Mc Cullagh reduced the lead to 1point on 17mins and then Castlederg were reduced to fourteen men after Martin Harvey was harshly sent off for the visitors on 19mins and from the resulting free Nicholas scored his 3rd point of the half. On 22mins Mark Corry popped over another free for the Derg but from then on Glenelly took control of the game with a well taken goal from Ronan O Kane on 24mins and a further point from Seamus Harkin just before the break to leave the half time score Glenelly 1-5 Castlederg 1-2.
Glenelly started the 2nd half well with a point each from Kevin Mc Cullagh (31mins) and Seamus Harkin (33mins). Now 5 points down Castlederg started to rally and a Paddy Lynch point on 35mins gave the visitors hope. On 38mins a great ball was played through from Ciaran Harper to Aiden Lynch who was pulled down for a penalty. Up stepped Ciaran Harper to stick it in the top corner past Tim Harney and a Mark Corry free on 39 mins levelled the score. At this stage it looked like the 14 men from the Derg were going to get the 2 points but Glenelly then opened up a 2 point lead again through two Seamus Harkin points on 45mins and 55mins. Castlederg refused to give up and when Aiden Lynch scored a great free from out the sideline on 58mins the Derg piled on the pressure in search of an equaliser. A high ball into the box was deflected for a 45 and up stepped Ciaran Harper to stroke the 45 over the bar to level the scores on 60 minutes.
