Glenelly Enjoy Home Win Over Beragh

Glenelly capitalised on home advantage this evening to record a 1-11 to 0-9 win over Beragh. The first half was a close affair with the sides reaching the break level Glenelly 1-4, Beragh 0-7. The home team opened the scoring with points from Liam and Cathal Nicholas but Beragh then hit five in a row with Martin Rodgers leading the charge for the Red Knights. The former county minor finished the game with 0-6 to his name having hit four in the first half alone. Beragh’s other first half scorers were Dan Boyle 0-2 and Eddie Molloy 0-1. Glenelly had Joe Mc Cullagh to thank for being level at the break following his goal while Cathal Nicholas also landed three first half points for the winners.

The second half saw Glenelly up the pace considerably with scores from Seamus Harkin and Conal Mc Cullagh putting them into a winning position. Beragh had only two Martin Rodgers points to show for their second half endeavours as the home team finished strongly landing the final three points of the game with Seamus Harkin getting two of them. Final score Glenelly 1-11, Beragh 0-9.
