Tyrone v Louth Premier Junior Championship
Tyrone went into the last game of the group stages as hot favourites against Louth at Healy Park. Orla McGeeney got the visitors off to a great start but a talented trio of young Tyrone forwards, Lara Devlin, Aine Cunningham and Kaitlin Gallagher took two scores each to put the home side into a strong position. Even when Louth got the ball into offensive positions the Tyrone defence, with Mairead Donnelly, Beth Jones and Grainne McDonald in fine form, repelled the attacks with confidence.
Half time: Tyrone 0-16, Louth 0-1
The second half saw Louth once again get the first score, this time from Ellen McCarthy. Tyrone were able to run the bench and used their subs, including goal scoring Casey Gallagher. This was undoubtedly a confident team performance which they will aim to repeat as they defend their Nancy Murray Cup title.
